Haha. Alright. I can do that (:
Hello!!! Here is my cover for one of my favorite songs from Lenka! hehe. i LOVE LOVE LOVE her music! <3
IDEA: I got the idea from the current resident minister in the Locale Congregation of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The plan was simple invite guests to Locale Evangelical Mission using Facebook. He got the idea from a sister who was able to bring about 10 visitors alone just by creating a Facebook group. The point is: social media is a great way to spread our faith as the one true church. So why not use it to its fullest?
PROJECT:
- This is nothing official so don’t treat it like it is. Again, I’ve created this idea out of simple inspiration. Participate as you wish. It’s about sharing our faith not about reblogs.
- Reblog this post. I know right, I just said it’s not about reblogs. Talk about contradiction, but how else am I suppose to get the word out?
- Share your congregation’s/districts events with your followers. Say your locale has an upcoming bible study, well then tell us! Make sure to post all the necessary information like time and place. Enough information for anybody to show up to the said event, but not enough for anybody to stalk you (that was a joke).
- Use tumblr’s tools to get creative. Post a video or maybe a picture of the flyer. Remember, it’s all your choice. So have fun with it.
- If you see a post for an INC event in your dashboard reblog it!Again it’s not about the number of reblogs, but sharing our faith through those reblogs. You may think that reblogging a church event far away from where you’re from won’t make a difference, unless you…
- Add tags. At least add a tag of the city in which the event is taking place. So that if somebody searches, for example, “Minneapolis,” your post will show up. Get creative with this too!
- Keep it simple. Just advertise the event. Keep it generic, don’t target anybody and leave the preaching to the ministers when they show up because of your post!
CONCLUSION: It’s going to be interesting to see how this little experiment works out. It’s likely that many people won’t be interested in your event, but think about the handful that may be rather intrigued. Think about that one that may just show up. With God’s help, it could just happen. So, try it out and see. Have fun with this! Use it also as a tool to connect with blogging brethren from around the world. There’s nothing to lose.
